Have been drawing and painting for most of my life but had never participated in a plein air event until recently. I work primarily in charcoal, graphite, watercolor and acrylic paint and pastel. Working outside poses an interesting challenge. Wind, hot sun, glare and rain can help of hinder your skills and abilities. Attitude has to prevail and I’ve found the natural beauty of Port Wing and the communal spirit of the festival to be inspirational.
