Julia Jaakola was trained in Watercolor techniques and received a BFA in Illustration. She has been using watercolors for 20 years. She has won Best of Show, Second Place, People’s Choice, and 2 Honorable Mentions awards since she has moved out of the indoors and into God’s Studio. She enjoys integrating the message of protecting earth’s natural areas, by allowing them to speak through her, and expressing what a place has to say in that moment with watercolors.” The medium is pure and responsive,” she states. Julia prefers to work on commissions and to travel to plein air events regionally.
