I am a self-taught artist whose work is inspired by travel, nature, and a love for artistic experimentation. I embraced the creative life more fully in recent years following retirement. Though I’ve explored many subjects—from wedding portraits and equine art to commissioned family and sports paintings—I have more recently focuse on landscape painting and find it especially rewarding.
Participation in plein air festivals has deepened my interest in capturing the fleeting beauty of outdoor light and form, particularly near my home along the Mississippi River in Wisconsin. My patio overlooks a wetland, and the shifting shadows and colors that I observe each morning offer a daily spark of inspiration.
My art is rooted in realism, yet Ioften explores abstract techniques and experimental textures, and I thrive on discovering new styles. My love of travel, both within the U.S. and abroad, continually opens new perspectives and motifs, each destination offering fresh palettes and stories to tell through paint.
