Susan Strong McDonald spent two summers studying Entomology and Botany at the University of Michigan Biological Station in Pellston, MI before graduating from college. After studying Art and Woodblock Printmaking in Japan, she taught Art and Art history at North Hennepin Community College for 25 years in Minneapolis. She completed her PhD at the University of MN in Art History. Usually she paints botanical watercolor paintings. She hopes that her love of nature will sustain her in this first Plein Air painting venture.
